on an Android phone is there a way to have emoticons on the contacts like the iPhone,?

Q. i noticed that you can do that on the iPhone and i was just wondering if it was possible to do that on an Android phone aswell. because that would be pretty damn nifty. thanks for your help/suggestions.

A. Not being familiar with iPhones... You can assign ANY picture you want as contact picture of any contact in Android. That probably doesn't help, but then.. :)

Are emoticons supposed to be animated in the Android version of Yahoo Messenger?
Q. I am using V1.4 of the Android Yahoo Messenger on an HTC EVO and my emoticons are not animated. Is this by design?

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the they still do not move...and yes I do know that not all of them are supposed to be animated.

Thanks!

A. Yahoo has some secret emotes for it's on line messenger and I suppose the same is true on Android.

But your best bet would be to go to Android on line or maybe even your Owner's Manual for this info:

What is BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) and how is it different for just regular texting?
Q. Also what is a BBM pin? Is there something like this for Androids that's what i have. Thanks!!!

A. BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) is a proprietary Instant Messenger application included on BlackBerry devices.
It was developed by Research In Motion (RIM), maker of the BlackBerry device. Messages sent via Blackberry Messenger are sent over the BlackBerry PIN system; thus, communication is only possible between two BlackBerry devices. Exchanging messages is also possible via dedicated discussion or chat groups, which allow multiple BlackBerry devices to communicate in a single session. In addition to offering text-based instant messages, BlackBerry Messenger also allows users to send pictures, voicenotes (audio recordings), files, location on a map, and a wide selection of emoticons (also known as "smileys") over the Blackberry network.
With the release of BlackBerry Messenger 5.0, BlackBerry allows users to use a QR Code barcode to add each other to their respective friends lists rather than using only numeric PIN identification or an email address associated with the user's BlackBerry.

you can use google talk for android... is just a messenger like msn or yahoo
