Motorola Droid 3 Review

I've always been a fan of the Motorola DROID and its successor devices. The original DROID was the very first Android smartphone on Verizon, and even though its keyboard was questionable, it remained one of the best devices available for quite some time. The new Motorola DROID 3 suffers no such fate. It's got an all-new qHD resolution 4-inch touchscreen, world roaming capabilities, and a beautifully designed 5-row QWERTY keyboard. It's an office in your pocket (that

Time for a Tablet?

Tablets are the cool kids in today's gadget world.
The Apple iPad and its thinner follow-up iPad2 has sold record numbers, over 8 million units were sold by October of last year according to analysts. The market is such that the number of units you can buy are still restricted. This is faster than the adoption of its previous hit product the iPhone and especially impressive during the midst of our current financial situation. And this is not an inexpensive product, the models range in price from $499-$699 for the wi-fi only units to $629-$829 for a 3G capable device (in addition to

The HTC Droid Incredible 2 is a top Android smartphone value at only $.01

The HTC Droid Incredible 2 may not be totally deserving of the Incredible name, but it does offer some incredible features here and there. At a retail of only one cent, that’s right, one penny, the price can’t be beat. And for that penny there may not be a better smartphone value in the entire mobile marketplace. You would think for one penny you would get a watered-down processor and poor graphics, but that is far from the case. The HTC Droid Incredible 2 actually has one of the faster processors of all smartphones,

Smartphone Shootout: Google Nexus S Vs. Motorola Droid 3

Even though there are some shortcomings, such as lack of expandable memory, Google Nexus S is still quite appealing to smartphone lovers.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 hands-on impression

We’ve had several encounters with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 before but this time, we actually have a review unit in our hands (and I know a lot of people are eagerly waiting for this tablet to be released in the Philippines).

After unboxing the 10.1″ Galaxy Tab yesterday, the very first thing you’ll notice with the tablet was how thin and light it is. In fact, it’s as thin but much lighter than the iPad 2. Of course, all of that can be attributed to the plastic construction of the tablet, compared to the aluminum of the iPad 2.
The variant that we have here is the 3G +

Motorola Droid 3 (Verizon Wireless)

Verizon Wireless has the fastest 4G network in the land. But you won't get any of that on the Motorola Droid 3, a high-end cell phone that's missing major pieces. While the Droid 3 has plenty of strengths, including terrific battery life, global capability, and a swell 8-megapixel camera, compared with 4G phones, it crawls along the Internet. That's just not acceptable for a top-of-the-line smartphone on America's fastest network.

Part of this success comes from the design. Less screen space means every inch of it has to be use effectively. If you've ever felt that Google was too sparse with its designs on the

This Just In - Motorola Droid 3 for Verizon

Almost a month ago, we posted about the Motorola Droid 3 popping up in GLBenchmark 2.0's online result browser, with a dual-core 1 GHz OMAP 4430 SoC at its core. Since then, Motorola made the Droid 3 official, announcing online availability for July 7, and in-store availability July 14 for the pretty standard $199.99 on a two year contract. Samsung Droid Charge 4G: 5 Reasons Why Droid Charge Stands Out From the Crowd

The Samsung Droid Charge 4G smartphone is the first Droid to hit the Verizon 4G LTE network, and has been dubbed by industry watchers and experts as the fastest and most powerful Droid mobile phone device to be released. As far as quality goes, just about every phone with the term ‘Droid’ in its name has turned out to be a high quality device that provides an overall excellent performance. So the Charge had some credibility and popularity going for it before it even emerged from the starting gate. So in a mobile

The Best Android Tablets

Ever since Google released its tablet-specific operating system, Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) earlier this year, we̢۪ve finally seen a steady flow of high-quality Android tablets. (Pre-Honeycomb Android tablets were another story.) This is a good thing, since they provide viable alternatives to the Apple iPad, which has dominated the tablet market since its first release in early 2010. One of the major benefits of Android over the iPad, the HP TouchPad, or the BlackBerry PlayBook, is that instead of a single hardware choice, you can access the OS on a number of different

Verizon Launches Sign-Up Page for Droid Bionic

The dual-core Motorola Droid Bionic has had a rocky launch life, but a brand-new page from Verizon is now teasing the future release of this much-anticipated 4G smartphone.
Here's the deal: As we reported last week, when a leaked Best Buy flyer provided a few scant details on the phone for public consumption, the Droid Bionic was originally scheduled to launch in the second quarter of this year. That didn't happen. And worse, rumors started to fly back and forth that Motorola was considering axing the phone as-is. But based on feedback from the phone's unveiling at this

Motorola Droid 3 Review: Specs Aren't Everything

As an example of the truism that specs don't always matter, the Droid 3 is it. On paper, this heir to Verizon's Motorola Droid line ($200 with a new 2-year contract as of 7/15/2011) sounded extremely promising: It has a dual-core processor, a 960-by-540-pixel qHD display, and a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard (complete with number row). The specs were enough to have me ready to dump my trusty old Droid Incredible and pick up one of these bad boys.

But after spending some time with the phone, I think I'll be holding onto my Droid Incredible a little longer.

The HTC Droid Incredible 2: the most fun you can have for a penny

The HTC Droid Incredible 2 is the second act in the HTC Incredible story, and if it is to follow successfully in its very popular predecessor’s footsteps, it will have to really be special in many ways. The HTC Droid Incredible sold extremely well, with a big crisp screen and tons of Google integrated Android goodness, as well as a nice feature set. Well, the good folks at HTC decided to improve everything but the price, and you can get the multimedia-superior HTC Droid Incredible 2 for the low, low, nearly-nothing

Hands-on Review of the Motorola Droid X2 (Verizon)

posted by Josh Kirschner on July 15, 2011in Phones and Mobile, Cell Phones, Guides Reviews :: 0 comments

The Motorola Droid X2 is an update to Verizon's popular Droid X, which came out last summer. The Droid X2 offers a higher resolution 4.3-inch qHD screen and more power in the form of a dual-core processor, but is otherwise largely the same as the previous generation. Unfortunately, that also means no 4G and the same poor ergonomics.

Unboxing & First Hands-On With The Motorola DROID 3

I'm fairly certain that I don't need to tell anyone about the impact the original DROID had on Google's mobile OS. It almost single-handedly brought Android to the masses, saved Motorola from bankruptcy, and made Verizon's then-stale smartphone line-up interesting once more. Then there was the DROID 2. While it was by no means a bad phone, it would be difficult to argue that it carried the same significance as its predecessor - not to mention its locked bootloader and the godawful addition of Ninjablur.Well here we are, just about one year later, with yet another iteration in the DROID series:
