What is the difference between google android market and google play?

Q. Alot of tablets have google android market with 4.1 Jelly bean android. Are they both the same, and if not can I upgrade. I want to buy a decent tablet for afordable price

A. The name is the difference. Android Market became Google Play a while ago and that's basically it. They also added books and movies to stuff you can download I think but in terms of apps there is no difference.

How do you rent a movie from the android market?
Q. I saw movies for rent on the android market. Do you need wifi to watch them? How long is the rental? And how does it work on general?

A. first off why would you want to rent a movie from android that cost a few bucks to watch a movie on your tiny screen why not try netflix (if your phones supported) also you can go to websites like www.ch131.com and watch movies off your phone there. now as for android market you need to have your debt card linked to your account (if you ever paid for an app then this step should be done) then you find the movie u want to rent (before i forget to do this you need the newest version of the android market if it isnt on your phone yet this is all pointless if you want it on your phone you need to side load the APK file to your phone (thats what i had to do) just google new android market apk and find it. then you can find your movie click on it then click on the price tag (should be a blue button) then click accept and pay. now after all that you can choose to stream it or choose to download it to your phone and view without using wifi or 3G/4G but you only get i think 24hours to watch the movie and im pretty sure thats 24hours from the time you press play not from the time you download it that dont mean you can have the movie forever till you click play there is going to be a time limit for that. i no its not the best answer but i tried

How different is the Android Market different then the apple market?
Q. I wanted an i phone, but the prices to use it each month is just too much, so i found the samsung intercept by virgin mobile. I have an Ipod touch, so I was wondering how different is the android market then the apple market? And i checked there website, so i saw a few apps i have on my ipod already so that's good. And does the phone act like the ipod/ iphone?

A. graphically there are different..... transaction wise, they are the same......

Android MArket has 150,000 apps.... 67% are Free... 20 are under $5... 13% over $5

AppStore has 300,000 apps.... 20% are Free... 40% are under $5... 25% $5-$10... 15% over $10

Droids can act like ipods/iphone.... and even better........ way more customization... your not tethering to a website all the time (cough itunes cough) like a dog to a tree or like a slave to Steve Jobs... I had a iphone 2G/3G... and I HATED IT... lost my music during syncs... phone froze after syncs.... i only got 1 wty replacement... i never had ins options...... I dont hate the phone, but more or less the Apple Policies that surround it.... when I pay $199 or whatever for a phone in contract --- I considered it MY PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With Iphone, its not your phone...... your constantly connected to itunes for OS updates and music/app support... geeesh, so lame, what does a website have to do with your music library or OS updates!??!!?!....... you set on what Apple tells you when you can/cannot do....... whatever... with Google Android... OWN YOUR PHONE... LIVE FREE... OS update via OTA or email... Music controled by yourself via a PC/Mac sync... and the customization is just freakin endless that it puts any smartphone to shame.......

Marketshare states customers want personalization and customization of their cell phone.... Apple just doent provide that..... and that is why Apple is dying and lossing stock and why Android became so popular in 1 year---what took Apple iphone 4 years to do.........

I know i ranted..... but, if iphone 5 is going to be like ipad when compared to the previous device, then Apple is really dead... LOL...

can you download the android market on non-android phones?
Q. I am planning on buying this really awesome phone. But it is not an android phone. I want to know if I can download the android market into it maybe via a microsd card. Is this possible, if so how?

A. Unfortunately, no. For starters, Android Market is designed for Android phones. Therefore, it has to be an Android phone to work. Second of all, the Android Market installer itself is a .apk file which only Android phones can execute. Other phones can't execute these type of files.

What phone are you getting?
