Droid 3 Teardown Reveals Impressive Specs

The folks at iFixit have cracked open Motorola's third-generation Droid phone, the Droid 3, which quietly launched through Verizon Wireless earlier this month.

The team found major improvements from the Droid and Droid 2, like a Qualcomm MDM6600 chip also found in the CDMA iPhone 4, a 1-GHz Texas Instrument OMAP 4430 dual-core processor found in the BlackBerry PlayBook, SanDisk built-in flash memory, and, unlike Verizon's other CDMA-based phones, a SIM card slot for use as a world phone.
