A new report from Strategy Analytics on the smartphone processor market shows Qualcomm continuing to hold its lead over Texas Instruments. TI lost the top spot in Q4 2010, and Qualcomm has managed to hold on to it through Q1 2011.
TI was a perennial favorite for smartphone processor shipments for years, but Qualcomm's success powering Android devices has allowed it to leapfrog ahead. Qualcomm held a meager 3 percent of the smartphone
