Samsung Galaxy S Android MP3 Player microphone doesn't work?

Q. I just purchased the Samsung Galaxy S Android MP3 Player. The model number is YP-G70CW. I tried to do the voice recorder and when I speak into the mic, it doesn't pick up my voice. Just static. The microphone doesn't seem to work at all with any of the apps that would allow for voice recognition. Is there a setting that I missed or could this just be a defect? Thanks.

A.

Is the Archos 5 with Android a good replacement for a traditional mp3 player?
Q. I have a Samsung P3 and I am thinking about replacing it with the Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet with the Android OS. I would like to know if there is anyone that uses it as an MP3 player and does it work quite well as one? Would it be a good replacement?

A. Yes and no. The Archos 5 is good, but hang on to your money for the moment. Archos are bringing out a whole new range of Android Internet Tablets which start at under $100/£100 for the 4gb tablet with a 2.8 inch screen.

See for yourself in the link provided, which one would suit your needs.

Should I get the android mp3 player or the ipod touch?
Q. I saw this really cool mp3 player called the samsung galaxy 5.0 and its a mp3 player from android and there's also the ipod touch 4g you can see both items from amazon that's where I found it and they both look cool and one question is the galaxy really a mp3 player because it looks like a phone and if it is a phone does it require a data plan? What mp3 player should I get

A. The Galaxy has a much larger display and even has GPS, I don't think ipod has that do they?

Plus there are many more free apps on the android market.

Should they make a mp3 player like the ipod touch?
Q. Apple made a iphone and a i pod touch the only thing diffrent is the otherone has internet , can call , and can text , what if android made a mp3 player like apple did ?

A. That is such a great idea, that it has already been done!

Samsung did it. The Galaxy 4 and 5

Do You prefer a smartphone or separate mp3 player?
Q. I'm thinking about blasting to an android phone because I'm tired of toting around a cell phone and mp3 player separately. I'm a Zune fan and I've been told I can download the Zune player to any android phone. Is the separate mp3 player better or not?

A. Personally, I prefer a separate mp3 player.

- I have a separate unit for playing music (and therefore, separate battery capacity and separate storage)
- If one device breaks, I don't lose both (if I need to send my phone in for repairs, I can still enjoy my music, or the other way around)

On the other hand, it's easier to forget two devices than one, so... YMMV, essentially.

What programs do other mp3 players use such as Zune or Android?
Q. For example, all Apple products use iTunes for their music and media. But what about a Zune player by Microsoft or a Samsung Galaxy phone or Android? I'm pretty sure they don't use iTunes because it's mainly for Apple. So what do those other phones or mp3 players use primarily for their songs or media? Because I know iTunes is the most popular one.

A. I do not know about the Zune, but Android phones and most other MP3 players don't need software. You just store your media in your Music or Video folder in Windows, where it is automatically sorted by album, artist, year and so forth and you just drag and drop your media into the player like you would a flash drive. That's it. Though I believe Winamp can be used to give more of a "syncing" option if you really want that for some reason. I used to have an iPod, and it was a pain, iTunes is slow, CPU-hogging and buggy.

Android MP3 player connected via USB to headunit of car will not play all of the music that is on the MP3 play?

Q. Android MP3 player connected via USB to headunit of car will not play all of the music that is on the MP3 player. It only lists about 60 of the songs out of about 1,000.

A. Check if there are different folders on MP3?

If there are then you would find your songs by going through directory.

Other reason can be format!

Where can I download music for my mp3 player?
Q. I've heard that iTunes is only for apple products. Are there other programs like iTunes for downloading songs to different kinds of mp3 players such as a Polaroid mp3 player?

A. You don't need programs like iTunes to obtain mp3's. that is a program which is way over rated due to it slowing down your computer a fair amount.

iTunes can download mp3's and just let them be mp3's which you could put into a folder or just put right onto a different mp3 player / android / whatever.

Consider streaming instead of just downloading.

Grooveshark has almost anything you could think of. In combination with Orbitz downloader, you could get by with downloading music this way. Probably illegal though.

for more consistency, completeness, (and guarantee of accuracy as for as songs , artists go) you could get a cheap membership here to listen to and even download mp3's

Can you use a Windows 7 phone or Android phone without a sim card?
Q. Im wondering if you can use a WP7 phone or Android phone as an mp3 player without a data plan or sim card, so I could buy one and use it like an ipod.

What would be a good MP3 player for a 2 year old?
Q. My 2.5 year old currently loves playing the ringtones on my android phone. But that's a problem because he is constantly running off with it and messing up the settings. Are there any MP3 players out there that have a simple, preferably touch screen interface, and a built-in speaker? It doesn't have to be portable, and it doesn't have to be specifically designed for children (except no small parts/choking hazards). I think he would love something like that for Christmas.

A. Just get her a generic cheap one for $10-$20.

If you want specific cheap brands names- look for :
MachSpeed (makers of "Trio" and "Eclipse" brands).
Coby
GPX (though they would be my least best suggestion).

Can the tmobile mytouch be used as an mp3 player like the iphone?
Q. I waned to buy the iphone but i rather stay in tmobile since it is what I am using now. Can the mytouch be used like an mp3 player like the iphone? can itunes be used as well?

A. I too have T-Mobile, and early August was thinking of switching to AT&T and jumping on the iPhone bandwagon, but am SO glad I didn't.

I researched AT&T and T-Mobile, and decided the myTouch was the better deal. I bought the MT3G in late August, and I wouldnt trade it for anything. Although the Android Market isn't as big as the Apple Store, I believe in no time, it will be just as good. Most of the Apps for the MT3G are free, whereas the iPhone's aren't. The iPhone is more expensive, and upon switching to AT&T you'll probably have to put a downpayment on it if you don't already have a credit score.

The new myTouch 3G can be used as an mp3 player, just like the iPhone, and it is very easy to put your iTunes on it. The MT3G comes with a 4GB memory card, but you can purchase 16 or 32 if you want more room for your music.

IMHO, the myTouch is just as good as the iPhone, and cheaper.
