What applications should I download for my smart phone?

Q. I got the Samsung Fascinate, with android of course.

I want the best free apps, and I wouldn't mind spending a few dollars on other apps that cost money, as long as they are useful and/or fun.

A. First and foremost download Lookout Mobile Security. Thats an app that will scan all apps for viruses/malware/spyware.
Then download Advanced Task Manager which is an app that will help you kill any apps that will drain your battery which you might not even know is running.
Then I would download the barcode scanner which is a barcode scanner that you use when you find an app online that you want you can scan it with your phone and it will automatically install it
Then I would download Hancent. It is a really cool text messaging app that will let you customize your the text of your in going and outgoing messages
Ringo and Go sms are really cool ones too.
Another thing you can do is when you go to the Android Market place press search then type free and it will give you every app that is free

Q. What is a 2D bar code scanner? How does it work from an Android phone? What is the purpose of this idea?

A. Barcodes date from the late 1940's and are just a machine readable representation of data.

There are loads of different forms of barcodes - around 20 linear ones (the type usually found on cans of food) and another 50 of the matrix type. The best known of the matrix type are the QR (Quick Response) ones.

The linear ones can be read by a single line of light that can identify the light/dark patterns, the matrix type need to have the entire image scanned and identified usually by CCD.

Google Goggles can read the QR matrix type barcodes but a better application for the Android is ZXing Barcode Scanner. Just start the application and it's ready to go. What applications should I download for my smart phone?

Q. I got the Samsung Fascinate, with android of course.

I want the best free apps, and I wouldn't mind spending a few dollars on other apps that cost money, as long as they are useful and/or fun.

A. First and foremost download Lookout Mobile Security. Thats an app that will scan all apps for viruses/malware/spyware.
Then download Advanced Task Manager which is an app that will help you kill any apps that will drain your battery which you might not even know is running.
Then I would download the barcode scanner which is a barcode scanner that you use when you find an app online that you want you can scan it with your phone and it will automatically install it
Then I would download Hancent. It is a really cool text messaging app that will let you customize your the text of your in going and outgoing messages
Ringo and Go sms are really cool ones too.
Another thing you can do is when you go to the Android Market place press search then type free and it will give you every app that is free

Q. I upgraded my cliq to the samsung vibrant. Now when i search some apps like the super mario live wallpaper and angry birds they wont show up, i checked my spelling and even tried scanning using the barcode scanner. now we have that out of the way have you tried a soft reset? Hard reset should work go into settings and privacy then click factory reset.

Also some app will not show up due to not working on the model of phone you have. Also some of the Samsungs have been having that problem

Album art grabber - if you cant find album art for some of your music this app is the best.

Apps Organizer - Organize your apps (especially if you have allot on your home screen)
