Does my Wifi tethering with games and voice chat on my phone have additional cost?
Q. I have an android which am using WiFi tethering on. I kill a lot of data watching streams, playing games and voice chatting. I do have an unlimited data plan, however it doesn't the terms doesn't mention anything about it. Will I be hit with a huge bill for killing around 300-500 MB a night?

A. From your description you shouldn't have any problems.

You said you're using wifi tethering... so to ensure we're on the same page: You've got your phone connected to your laptop (presumably via USB). The phone is connected to your wifi router. Thus your laptop is using your phone like a wifi card and is connecting to the internet on your router (via your phone).

The bit you need to be careful about is where your phone connects to get its internet connection. If your phone isn't connecting to your own personal router (which is connected to the internet). Then you need to check if you're connecting to the mobile internet. If you're connected to the mobile internet then you need to be very careful as you may be charged by the gigabyte. Some data plans do have a "wifi" package of sorts and if your phone is connecting to some arbitrary wifi source which you're totally unaware of, then you should also be careful about how much you use.

Some network providers give unlimited data plans though, so if you use 300-500 MB a night, then you should try to find those network providers. They do work pretty well when you get a good internet connection. I had a friend who did this all the time and he didn't pay for internet via a fixed line internet connection afterwards.

will i be charge by using usb tethering?
Q. I'm getting mixed information when trying to find a answer to this.

I have a Lg Optimus 3G version 2.2 with unlimited data, I did not signed up for any tethering service. Any ways, usb tethering and portable hotspot seems to work fine, however, will I be charged if I use them?

I search google and some sites say tmobile will charge $14.99,is that true?

A. Yes, you will be charged. The service is provided by T-Mobile, so they will charge you for it. To get around this, you can download an app called, PDAnet. It allows you to tether for free (seriously).

Go to www.junefabrics.com from your computer, and download the android version. Then just follow the instructions they give you.

Good luck! :)

How can i use my android internet in my laptop?
Q. I did the hot spot thing but idk if they charge for that? is there a way to connect my android to get internet access in my laptop for free?

A. Go to the Android Market and download PDAnet. You will also need to get a software client for your computer. After that, open PDAnet and select "Enable USB Tether". Make sure USB debugging is on. If it isn't, go to your phone settings and you should be able to turn it on under "Applications". This si very important. It took me weeks to figure this out and during that time PDAnet was just taking up space on my phone. After all that is done, click on the desktop client and select "connect". It will work on both Mac and PC. I know it works perfectly on Mac but have limited experience with using it on a PC. Good luck!
